From Seeds to Soap: How the Farm Shapes Every Product

On a quiet, Spring morning, I find that dew has crystallized along the porch railing, shimmering in the sun like fresh-laid glitter. The ducks quietly chatter as they hunt for insects in the freshly laid mulch, and the rooster crows to greet the sun before it even finishes peeking over the treeline. The farm is picture perfect in the moments where the choice for embracing the gentleness of a moment overrides the drive to rush through the tasks of the day. It is in these moments that I take inspiration – every scent, every candle, every bar of soap begins with these moments from the front porch.
I love growing products knowing that they will eventually enhance my creations. Once we have an established line of dairy sheep, the richness of their milk will enhance each bar, while the sweetness of future beehives will bring gentle hydration and soothing nourishment, elevating the bar’s cleansing power with a touch of farm-fresh luxury.
But the products we make are deeper than just what I can grow on the farm; they are also drawn from the deep passion to leave this work better than I found it. Every decision made in our product lines comes directly from this place. Our scents are human- and Earth-friendly, while our oils are sourced from companies that share a desire to gather products responsibly.Our ingredients are never hidden from view or listed in small print. The decisions we make are clear, explained, and compassionate, inside of every bar and every candle.
While there is a main line, the Hearth & Hollow Collection that I curated represents the various aspects of our farm, our seasonal, limited edition lines allow me to draw strength and inspiration from the shifting nature of our surroundings. Spring creates something fresh, new, and bright. Summer inspires the sweet scents of ripe fruit and the warmth of golden sunshine. Fall lines represent cozy, comforting feelings, like sweet pumpkin and the new, cool crispness in the air. Winter brings a close to each year, with scents that inspire the gentle coolness outside and the warmth of the holiday season. The scents in our line aren’t just another product – they represent giving a piece of our farm to everyone who comes knocking. Every batch of soap and candles is created using small-batch methods, all produced right here on the farm by myself, owner Kaila Ryan. This allows my own hands to control quality, provide high attention to detail, and ensure I know the process and ingredients in every single product. Each batch is created first with intention, sustainability, mindfulness, and the desire to preserve the farm in every season.

Tonight, the sun will set on the farm, the sky aglow with a pink and orange fire. The ducks will gently waddle into their coop, and the rooster will stop crowing and settle into a roost. The dew will start to settle in for the night once more. I will take inventory in these quiet moments.
